About WWMB

Worldwide Model Buses started life as an internet Discussion Forum in March 2005. Started by Peter Brookes, it set out to provide a forum for discussion of model buses that would be far wider in scope than was then available elsewhere. The stated inclusion of topics covering model buses (including trams and trolleys) in the rest of the world as well as the UK, resin, tinplate and plastic models, kits, kit-building and scratch building, scales other than 1:76, publications and the actual vehicles and marques portrayed by the models quickly proved a winning formula, and it has enjoyed unrivalled success ever since.

In August 2005 the request for greater pictorial interest was met by Donald Grant. The Worldwide Model Buses Fotopic website opened, and has grown steadily to become what is probably the largest collection of model bus images available anywhere on the world wide web. There are currently (May 2008) in excess of 5,900 images available to be viewed, and the collection prides itself in maintaining a healthy Stop Press feature linking to the very latest pictorial model news.

The Worldwide Model Buses web site was first put up for viewing in April 2006. The number of features available has grown gently over time, and the web site now fills a number of gaps in the on-line model bus enthusiast's world - the comprehensive Model Lists, Model Reviews, and Model Kits coverage quickly became established as firm favourites as they were introduced. The website is maintained by Tony Price.

By far the happiest (and most rewarding for everyone) feature of the Worldwide Model Buses group of sites is it's collaborative nature - the whole enterprise is, ultimately, the result of input from a great number of people and not just that of the three main caretakers. We hope you enjoy the fruits of all their efforts.
